E23: Balancing Career, Passion, and Purpose with CRNA and Motivational Speaker Katie Niemeyer

Katie Niemeyer

Today, it’s my honor to introduce a truly inspiring guest—Katie Niemeyer. In addition to her role as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA), Katie is a professional speaker, philanthropist, entrepreneur, and marathon runner whose journey into the medical field is nothing short of remarkable.

In fact, at the age of 16, Katie endured a life-threatening reaction to medication, which left her with severe burns and nearly blind. But it was the compassionate care she received from nurses during that difficult time that ignited her passion for nursing. She then went on to become a CRNA, and those values of resilience and empathy have deeply influenced her career.

In today’s episode, Katie opens up about her personal and professional journey—from overcoming setbacks to transitioning from a W-2 employee to a 1099 worker, allowing her the flexibility to pursue her growing speaking career. You’ll also hear how she balances her full-time work as a CRNA with motivational speaking, helping a variety of audiences by sharing her story of overcoming adversity.

Katie Niemeyer on Staying True to Your Purpose

Katie also provides valuable insight on financial planning for her future, particularly as she looks toward potentially living part-time in Spain. Additionally, we’ll dive into her approach to public speaking, where she likens the discipline and persistence it requires to her training as a CRNA. Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, Katie shares her thoughts on staying true to your purpose, enjoying the journey, and prioritizing your goals at the right time in life.

So, sit back, relax, and get ready to be inspired by Katie’s powerful story of resilience, determination, and the power of connection. With that, I hope you enjoy this episode of the MoneyRx for CRNAs Podcast with special guest Katie Niemeyer.
