Episode 33: Demystifying Medicare with Boomer Benefits’ Danielle Roberts

In this episode of The Retiring Entrepreneur Podcast, I interview Danielle Roberts. Danielle is the co-founder of Boomer Benefits, a health insurance agency that helps baby boomers and seniors navigate Medicare in 48 states. She and her team have helped more than 50,000 beneficiaries with their Medicare decisions since 2005.

However, what’s unique about Danielle is how she’s been able to grow her online following to over 600,000 baby boomer fans on social media with heavy engagement. And how she bought out her original business partners to eventually co-found Boomer Benefits with her brother in 2006. Although it was just the two of them until 2010, their complementary skillsets propelled the business forward. And today, Boomer Benefits is a 100-person organization.

In this episode, Danielle and I discuss why Medicare is so confusing for the millions of beneficiaries who depend on it. In addition, Danielle describes some of the costliest mistakes baby boomers tend to make when choosing Medicare benefits. She also shares the educational resources she believes are most valuable for those approaching their Medicare years.

Lastly, be sure to listen to the end, when Danielle explains why she believes the insurance industry has no glass ceiling, making it a great industry for women entrepreneurs. Any why being ethical and honest always trumps being a great salesperson.

So, whether you’re interested in learning more about Medicare or curious about how to get started in the insurance industry, I hope you enjoy this episode of The Retiring Entrepreneur Podcast with Danielle Roberts.
